The Dutch tri-color was first used in the 16th century when Dutch provinces revolted against Spain. Their leader was Prince William of Orange. The stripe on the flag was originally orange, but later was changed to red.
This international flag is designed to hold its color longer than any other flag on the market. It features vivid, bright colors and a hand fitted, double needle seam with back-stitch reinforcement. The thread used is a premium quality extra-strength polyester blend.
