During the Revolutionary War, Colonel William Moultrie made a flag for the South Carolina soldiers to carry. The blue in the flag is from their uniforms. The silver crescent is what the soldiers wore on the front of their caps. A picture of a palmetto tree was added to the flag later which is the state tree.
Made of heavyweight nylon, this flag is extremely durable and is specially treated to minimize sun and chemical deterioration. It features brilliant, fast colors, a strong canvas heading, and large grommets.
